Our Executive Team
Sonya Erickson - Director
Sonya Erickson (formerly Sonya Humphries) is the passionate and selfless leader of All God's Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the most vulnerable in the community. Her journey in outreach began with a simple yet powerful gesture—giving a $5 wrestling toy to a child in need. This small act of kindness sparked a lifelong commitment to helping others, particularly children and families in difficult circumstances.
Over the years, Sonya’s efforts grew from that single moment into a broader mission, leading to projects like the annual Christmas event, where she and her team spread joy by gifting children with much-needed presents. Her love and care for children have always been at the heart of her work, and she has opened her home to foster some of the most unwanted children, providing them with a safe and loving environment. In addition, Sonya’s home has always been a refuge for anyone who needed it, demonstrating her deep commitment to loving and supporting her community.
In 2013, Sonya led a significant outreach project, renovating the home of Michelle, a local volunteer firefighter and cancer patient, while she was in Chicago for treatment. With the help of volunteers and local businesses, the team transformed Michelle's home, allowing her to return to a warm, safe space. Michelle has since passed away, but her legacy of service lives on through projects like this.
Through All God's Children, Sonya continues to touch the lives of many, creating lasting change through love, faith, and service.
Phil and Laura Zavala - Pastors
Born in Hemet, California, Pastor Phil Zavala’s journey toward faith began at the age of 35 when he experienced a life-changing moment on a street corner in Barstow, California. It was there that he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, embracing Him as his Lord and Savior. From that pivotal moment, Phil was delivered from every addiction and harmful lifestyle, embarking on a new path of hope and freedom in Christ.
Phil began attending The Potter’s House, where he dedicated the next 12 years to deepening his faith and understanding of Christian values. His life became a testament to God’s transformative power, and during this time, he was discipled in the teachings of Jesus. For 11 of those years, he faithfully served the church in various leadership roles. Phil led Bible studies and mentored the youth, which eventually led him to serve as the Door Director, assisting the Pastor and helping others find freedom through the gospel.
In 2012, Phil and his wife, Laura, felt God place a burden on their hearts to relocate to Mobile, Alabama, where they continued to follow God’s calling. In 2024, Pastor Phil founded a home church in Mobile, where he has been holding weekly gatherings for a growing congregation. His ministry is rooted in the belief that there is something more for everyone—that each person, no matter their circumstances or appearance, is deeply loved and valued by God.
Pastor Phil's heart is driven by the conviction that every living, breathing soul matters to God, and he is passionate about sharing that love with others, helping them understand their worth in the eyes of their Creator.
